This Pandemic that we are having to live is changing the way we do many of the things in our daily lives. From remote work outside the office without physically occupying our chair to requesting our shopping list through online stores, the way we do many tasks has changed thanks to computing. On many occasions the possibility already existed, but the need has led to its use in a massive way.

The state of alarm caught us all by surprise. According to the Authorities and Organizations involved, they made decisions about what we could or could not do, all the events that involved crowds and risk of massive contagion fell from the calendar. Sports activities both indoors and outdoors began to be suspended and both professional and popular races were no exception.

Many professional and amateur runners saw their aspirations and training plans truncated. After the initial uncertainty, technology again helped us in the form of virtual classes. The work had moved to our living room from home and why not, the fitness room trainer was now through our phone, our home teacher. In some cases with established time slots such as in sports centers and in others, to consume at the time you want, with recorded classes.

It has been a matter of time before both companies that traditionally organized sporting events and new ones that emerged at this time of crisis start offering virtual careers. On second thought the system is simple. The registration procedure is the same as before the Pandemic. The runners have devices and apps that allow the registration of the itinerary carried out and at the end or through a specific application or by sharing the result of our route the circle closes, with the registration of the races of all the participants and publication of the final results .

The experience is not exactly the same for the participant, who competes against himself and this for many is a handicap. There is no race environment, boxes, supplies, entry into the finish line … but it is the closest thing to the Old Normal.

As is logical, the cost of infrastructure and logistics is reduced to a minimum, many times there are no prizes, no commemorative gift and sometimes no number … That is why many take advantage of so that part of the lower registration cost goes to solidarity or charitable causes. which can be motivating for many athletes who already put on their shoes for the mere pleasure of doing a healthy activity.
